Driving Information

Monmouth is approximately 1 hour and 20 minutes from the Portland International Airport (PDX); or 1 hour and 10 minutes from the Eugene Airport (EUG). Salem is only 20 minutes from campus, and in under 10 minutes you can be in the center of the nearby cities of Dallas or Independence.  

Transit Information

Take the Groome Transportation Shuttle from the Portland Airport to Salem (takes about 2 hours, with 20 trips per a day, $49-$54 per person).

Then transfer to the local bus service, Cherriots bus route #40X, stop 1520, from the Salem transit center to WOU (about $2 per person); Ticket information; (503) 588-2877

For a more convenient option when carrying art supplies and luggage, contact Thompson’s Transport, (503) 851-6028 (call or text) or ThompsonMedTransport@gmail.com. They are offering a dedicated service just for FOBA participants, and will drop you right in front of the FOBA check-in area. They will try to group people in sets of 2-4, so rates are more reasonable. We are leaving it to Thompson’s Transportation to match everyone’s arrival times up as best they can.  

  • Salem (Holiday Inn on Market Street) to WOU $40 round trip per individual,  $25 round trip for 2 to 4 passengers.
  • PDX to WOU $200 round trip per individual,  or $150 round trip if they can group 2 to 4 passengers.
  • EUG to WOU $170 round trip per individual,  $135 round trip for 2 to 4 passengers
