Important Things to Bring to FOBA
Workshop Supplies: Review the supply list associated with each of the workshops you are taking and gather up your supplies. The list was emailed in your registration packet and is available under the workshop descriptions. If you have questions, email your instructor.
Extra Bedding and Towels (if you wish): Waiting for you in your room will be: 1 pillow, 1 pillowcase, 2 blankets, 2 flat sheets, 1 towel, and 1 washcloth. The towels are cotton. The sheets and pillowcases are 55% cotton and 45% polyester. The blankets may either be 100% cotton or a cotton/polyester blend. The pillows are plastic-covered, like a hospital may use.
Laundry facilities are free to use for anyone staying in the apartments, and are located on each floor. You will need to provide your own laundry detergent and fabric softener.
There is much more information about housing, both on- and off-campus, here.
Eating and Cooking Utensils (if you wish): The kitchen includes a full-sized refrigerator/freezer, stove/oven, and microwave oven, in case you wish to bring/store food and beverages or make your own meals. However, no cooking and eating utensils are supplied; you should plan to bring your own if desired.
A Portable Fan (if you wish): None of the living spaces are air conditioned. (All of the workshop spaces are air conditioned.)
Yoga Gear and Mat or Beach Towel (f you wish): Carl will lead us in a 30-minute yoga session on the lawn in front of the Arbor Park Apartments each morning at 6:30 am.
Raffle and Auction Items: Proceeds from the Raffle and Auction benefit FOBA’s fellowship and internship programs. If possible, please notify us in advance of your donation so we can prepare to display your item(s). Donation items for the Raffle and Silent Auction may be brought with you to FOBA or shipped by June 1, 2026. Contact Tammy Andrade at events@focusonbookarts.org for shipping information.
Challenge Book: Create an artist’s book based on the conference theme, re:book. Enjoy the recognition of your peers and maybe win a prize! There is more information here.
Art to Trade or Give Away (optional): Artist’s Trading Cards, tiny books, pieces of paper decorated or marbled by you—not required at all, but fun to give and get.
