NEED A RIDE FROM SALEM?

We have rented the campus Wolf Van to help shuttle attendees to and from Western Oregon University just for the Focus on Book Arts conference! The Shuttle will be available June 25th, June 30th and July 1st and the will be open to all conference attendees, instructors, and volunteers.

All we ask is that you “tip the driver” a minimum of $8 when you ride, to help us cover the costs of the rental. If you don’t have cash, you can also make a donation when you check-in for registration. Any extra donations will go directly into FOBA’s general fund and will help cover other costs of this years conference.

Fill out your arrival information here, and submit it. Once we get an idea of everyone’s approximate arrival times, we will set-up a schedule of pickup times at the Salem Train & Greyhound Bus Station parking lot.

Note – if you are part of our early arrival staff, instructors or volunteers, please use this form and fill out your arrival date as June 23rd or 24th , and then we can coordinate a volunteer to come pick you up in their own vehicle on either of those days.

The sign up for a ride from Salem is now closed.

Here’s the Google map for the location (if you don’t see the map – here is a link to the map)

Check-in will be in the Richard Woodcock Education Center Room 101 601 Monmouth Ave N, Monmouth, OR 97361.

The Check-In Desk is inside the Richard Woodcock Education Center. Check-in is from 1:00pm to 7:00 pm on Tuesday and 8:00 to 9:00 am Wednesday through Sunday.

If you arrive after check -in hours – please go to the conference information desk and they will be able to help you get your room keys and check you in.

Note: It is important to check in before attending class, as all students will need card keys for building access, whether they are staying on campus or not.

Attendee will be given a welcome bag upon check-in which will include:

  • Name Tag
  • Class schedule & location
  • Dorm room keys
  • Meal tickets or wristbands
  • Parking information
  • Wifi information
  • Participant Handbook: You will receive a participant handbook booklet which contains loads of general information: a conference schedule, the class schedule with maps of classroom locations, evening activities, Colleen Cavin Fellowship information, a campus map, a map of points of interest in the area, and restaurants around the campus.
  • BiblioBingo game cards
  • Book kit from Board
  • Other goodies

Due to construction on Monmouth Ave, our use of Parking Lot H has been impacted. That construction will be along Monmouth Way from before Campbell Hall (on the map) to the entrance to the H lot. There will be no traffic permitted along Monmouth Way. Therefore, we need to shift parking locations for the duration of our conference.

We recommend that when people arrive for check-in, they park in Lot O (on the north side of the Welcome Center) and walk to the Richard Woodcock Education Center (RWEC) to get their parking permit. Once checked in, they will need to move their car to Lot J.

We apologize for any inconvenience caused by this unexpected change. Rest assured, we will have ample signage on campus to guide everyone to the new parking lot locations.

The Conference Information Desk will have someone available to help you in the Richard Woodcock Education Center from 8:00am to 7:00pm Wednesday thru Saturday and 8:00am to 5:00pm on Sunday.
