Artist Statement
This book is made up of freehand painting exercises inspired by dreams. The pages were created using watercolor, watercolor pencil, Conte crayon, water crayons, stamps, colored pencils, and ink pens. The binding is a practice binding to see how to accommodate a double-sided ceramic piece in the cover design. This work is a collaboration with my husband, Jeff Osgood, who hand-carved the ceramic piece specifically for this binding.
Materials and Techniques
Flatback case-bound book in black silk shantung bookcloth with ceramic rotating double-sided medallion in the cover; leather endbands. Interior pages are freehand markmaking and painted designs.
