Artist Statement
This book is best described as a tribute to Mexican color, designs, and culture. I have traveled throughout the heart of Mexico and Baja, CA for 30 years or so. The sense of place speaks to my heart.
Materials & Technique
Multiple layers of Acrylic with markmaking. Long stitch binding with variations- knot connections at head and tail. 2 needle coptic binding. 7 strand braiding with milagro charm. Images: color pencil and India ink Mexican designs depicting birds on vellum.
Canson edition paper 250 gsm. Vellum. Acrylic, color pencils, India ink pen, waxed linen thread, metal milagro.
