Artist Statement
Scattered Pieces is an assemblage of random imagery, paint, and words all stitched together to create spontaneous wonder. I enjoy creating paper landscapes where blue-sky-play blooms on perch and page, owls dance with polka dots, butterflies sail over scribble, and faces peer through painted circles. Each of the six spreads has rubber stamped text (left page) and on the right, an original collage created on salvaged cardboard packaging. Pages are five-hole pamphlet-stitched to the spine.
Materials and Techniques
Cover collaged with miscellaneous ephemera including mailing labels, decorative and scrap paper, book pages, wrapping paper, rubber stamps, book thread, handmade paper, acrylic paint, pencil; interior cardboard boxes collaged with the same materials and stitched.
