Artist Statement
When people ask what I do, I say: “I’m an artist. A book artist. I create handmade books and I make things out of old books.” Technically I am a mixed media assemblage artist. My work is about reuse of everyday elements, mostly discarded books, sometimes in absurd ways. I am a member of Bay Area Book Artists. Join our group at bayareabookartists.org.
Materials & Technique
An eclectic collection of paper weavings individually mounted on torn and sewn accordion pages. Weavings including collage, stitching hand printed paper, blueprints, magazine pages and other scrap materials. Three part cover boards are covered with mulberry paper and additional paper weavings. Mixed Media paper and thread.
