Rhiannon Skye Tafoya – Ul’nigid’

Place is a one-of-a-kind work that explores the act of transformation. Plant fibers become paper, which becomes collage components, which become reimagined plants and landscapes. Stitching fixes the paper into its current state, affording a sense of comfort and stability—for the time being. Nearly all the fibers were collected near the foothills of the Blue Mountain of eastern Oregon, where the artist resides.
